Our UK Perks & Benefits

 

As a UK-based company, some of our perks and benefits are localised to the UK but we are working towards comparative local market benefits being available to our international employees.

Compensation

  • Share options: the option to buy shares in Carbon Re, at a later date
  • Annual salary reviews
  • Proactive pay increases to reflect growing responsibilities

Flexible Working Hours

  • We trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, at times that suit you and your team.
  • Our core working hours are 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday
  • Outside our core hours, you have the autonomy to arrange your remaining working hours together with your team.

Holiday

  • 30 days’ holiday a year, plus bank holidays – please use them all!
  • You can opt out of observing UK bank holidays and take these days at other times to observe other religious/cultural holidays
  • If you don’t use all your holiday, you can ‘sell back’ up to 5 days each year

Working from Home

  • If you’re employed as a ‘remote’ worker, we’ll pay for any equipment you need to do your job
  • If you’re normally office-based, you can still work from home 2-3 times per week – as long as you have a good internet connection and a private, quiet space which allows you to do your best work.

Health & Wellbeing

  • Paid sick leave for both physical & mental health
  • All-in-one mental health support – with confidential assistance at no cost
  • Fresh fruit in the office (biscuits, snacks, quality coffee, tea and soft drinks too)
  • We’re a member of the cycle-to-work scheme (with a reduction in your personal tax).

Family

  • Paid maternity, paternity, adoption or shared parental leave (after 13 weeks working for the company)
  • 52 weeks of primary caregiver leave (12 weeks at 100% pay, 27 weeks at Statutory Maternity Pay, 13 weeks unpaid)
  • 1 month of secondary caregiver leave at 100% pay

Pension

  • We’ll automatically enrol you into our pension scheme with Nest

  • We offer a 5% employer contribution

  • You’ll need to pay 5% too, and you can opt to pay more for the tax benefits!

  • Of course, you can opt out if you’d prefer not to have a pension at all

Travel

  • We’ll offer a season ticket loan to help you manage your daily commute / travel costs for travelling on public transport.

Community

  • Regular company-wide socials, like anniversary events and holiday parties
  • Smaller team lunches, dinners, breakfasts & other social get-togethers
  • Interest based clubs like ‘food Fridays’ and sports. You can make your own, too!
  • Attendance is 100% optional – if you just don’t fancy it, there’s no pressure

Learning & Development

  • Personal learning budget of up to £500 a year for you to spend on books, training courses and conferences.
  • Further role specific training to ensure that our teams remain cutting edge in their various areas of specialism.
  • Regular knowledge-sharing sessions with your team, department and company-wide
  • A library of industry-related books that you can borrow at any time
